Rules & Course Etiquette

Legend
- Yardage from landmarks to center of green.
- Yardage from sprinkler heads to center of green. 100, 150, 200 poles on both sides of the fairway indivcate yards to center of green.
- Cart paths have 100, 150 and 200 markers.
Local Rules
- USGA Rules govern play except where modified by local rules.
- Replace divots, rake bunkers, repair ball and spike marks on green.
- Appropriate attire and non-metal spikes are required at all times on the course and practice areas.
- The golf ranger has full authority on the golf course to maintain rules and speed of play for everyone's enjoyment.
- All players are requested to keep up with the group in front. If there is an open hole ahead, let faster groups play through.
- Out-of-bounds are defined by white stakes.
- Hazards are defined by red and yellow stakes.
Golf Car Rules
- Golf cars shall not be used without proper assignment and registration in the Pro Shop
- Each operator of a golf car must be a least sixteen (16) years of age and have a valid automobile driver's license.
- Always use golf car paths where provided, especially near tees and greens.
- Except on a path, do not drive a cart within thirty (30) feet of a green or tee.
- Unless otherwise posted, the 90° cart rule will always be in effect. Drive to your ball, cross directly to it. After playing your shot, leave the fairway by the shortest means possible.
Golf Course Etiquette
- Rocky Gap Lodge and Golf Resort supports the USGA "Pace of Play" policy which encourages all golfers to complete their round in 4 ½ hours or less.
- When approaching a green, drive your golf car to the side or rear of the green on the most direct path to the next tee.
- When play of a hole is completed, leave the green promptly and proceed directly to the next tee.
