Family Adventure
Rocky Gap Resort is pleased to offer the following adventure experiences for our 2008 Family Adventure Vacation guests. These experiences are coordinated through the Resort's in-house adventure outfitting service, Western Maryland Adventures. Within 48 hours of making your reservation you will be contacted by your Family Adventure Planner who will assist you in scheduling these activities during your stay.

Geocaching
Add high tech treasure hunting to your vacation plans this year! This package includes hand held GPS unit, instructions and cache locations. You can either do your Geocaching on foot here in the park or hit the road and try Geocaching throughout the Cumberland area. Geocaching is an international sport that can be addictive! This is a great for individuals, couples, groups or families.
Drive Time: Can be done on resort property or by driving to caches in the Cumberland area.

One Hour Bike Rental in the Park
Enjoy a relaxing one hour bike ride through Rocky Gap State Park or for the more adventurous take an intermediate level mountain bike ride on the Lakeside Loop Trail. Reserve your bikes now so that you won't miss this great addition to your vacation.
Bikes - $10.00 per hour
Bugger (child trailer) - $6.00 per hour

One Hour Canoe, Kayak, Paddle Boating on the Lake
Enjoy a guided kayaking or canoeing shoreline tour on Lake Habeeb. Participants will take a relaxing paddle on the lake and get the chance to take in the beautiful scenery.
$40 per person
Fishing Equipment Rental
Full day rental. Includes rod, reel and tackle box. Live bait sold separately. Fishing is permitted year-round on Lake Habeeb, both from the shore and boat. Small mouth bass, large mouth bass, catfish, bluegill and other pan fish are found in the lake. Rainbow and brown trout are stocked several times yearly. Fishing licenses are required and are available at Rocky Gap Resort.

Guided Bass Fishing
Try your hand at bass fishing with a professional bass fishing guide. Instruction, equipment and technique is all included in this 1/2 day trip.
$225.00 per boat (maximum of 2 people per boat)
Horseback Riding
This is the place to ride if you want great horses and beautiful mountain scenery in the fresh air that only country living can provide. Ride includes a combination of forest roads and trails. Call for special buddy saddle rides or pony rides for children ages 4-6 years 301-784-8467.

Recirculating Whitewater Course (Man-made)
Experience an authentic outdoor adventure from the world's only mountain-top whitewater course, and come raft the swirling rapids and surging water with world class guide staff. Each raft will run the whitewater course 5-8 times during each two hour session. Call for details on renting inflatable kayaks or bringing your own kayak 301-784-8467.

Sporting Clays
Whether you want to sharpen your skills for wing shooting, rabbit hunting or just having fun, you will want to visit our sporting clays facility. Sporting clays are one of the nation's fastest growing sports. If you have never shot before you will start out at a stationary site move to the shooting stations as you develop your new found skill.

Whitewater Rafting on the Youghiogheny River
Class I-II Family Adventure
If you're looking for an adventure that the whole family can enjoy then maybe a family float trip on our Class I-II is more to your liking. If you want to make the trip more exciting, call to find out about booking an inflatable kayak for the trip. Equipment, instruction and lunch are included.

Whitewater Rafting on the Youghiogheny River
Class III-IV High Adventure for beginners to advanced rafters
Excitement for everyone from the novice to the white water veteran describes the Lower Yough in Ohiopyle, PA. The Lower's Class III and IV rapids will challenge and excite, but not intimidate even the novice rafters. Guides will paddle along instructing, coaching, and assisting you at each major rapid. However, a guide will not be in your raft unless you choose to upgrade to the Guide in Raft Option. A riverside deli lunch is included in this adventure. Call to upgrade your trip to Guide in Raft Option.

Western Maryland Scenic Railroad
All aboard! The Western Maryland Scenic Railroad is ready to take you on a journey through time. When you step on board the vintage 1916 Baldwin Locomotive, you'll feel like you're traveling to another era. The Western Maryland Scenic Railroad round trip excursion is an exciting mix of mountain scenery and rich transportation history. It's an entertaining and educational experience rider's of all ages and interests with interpretive history and lively Main Street Districts at both ends of the trip! Our restored early 20th century rolling stock steams through the mountains of Western Maryland on a stunning 32 mile round trip between Cumberland and Frostburg from May through December. More than three hundred years of American history are tied together by a ribbon of steel that thrills riders of all ages.

Cancellation Policy:
Ticket sales are non-refundable. If you call at least 5 days prior to the scheduled excursion, trips may be rescheduled depending on availability. Any credits issued by the WMSR for cancelled trips are good for up to one year. All tickets are held at the Ticket Office for pick up the day of your reservation. Individual coach seating is on a first come, first served basis. Groups of 20 or more reserved in advance via the Group Sales department will have reserved seating. If any member of your party requires assistance boarding, please place a note in Special Instructions. The train has limited handicapped accessibility. No pets are allowed on train excursions unless needed for vision or hearing impaired riders.
The Western Maryland Scenic Railroad makes every effort to maintain its schedule but reserves the right to alter schedules or equipment as operating conditions warrant.
Rappelling
This is an extreme sport which requires little to no skill or physical strength. Adventurers can experience the thrill of being on the rocks yet feel comfortable in a controlled environment.
