Team Building Games, Activities and Challenges

Team building is fun and can be the key to learning. Your company can easily learn to work together more effectively by learning to play together with our team building events.

Western Maryland Adventures offers team building seminars that are a combination of new ideas, innovative events, indoor or outdoor exercises, games, challenges, and puzzles. We will work with you to customize activities that are based on specific learning objectives for your group. Whether you have the time for a break between meetings, half a day, or multiple day sessions we will be happy to customize the unique program to meet your specific needs.

Our range of corporate team building events and activities are suitable for groups of any size. We are fully mobile and are able to provide team building activities and corporate events for your company.

Corporate Team Building

The Team Building Challenges and the structure of Team Adventures for a corporate team building day are designed to help bond your team while having fun in order to build a team vision to take back into the workplace. Your team can reap the benefits of this activity in any or all of the following ways:

  • Inclusion - the more inclusive, the greater the number of talents within the team.

Team Building Games

Our team building games are designed as metaphors for business issues. These games are designed to truly challenge team members. Teams may not always be successful the first time they attempt the activity. In the real working world teams must overcome many challenges, also. They will need to determine "where they are" in the plan and "where they want to be". Nothing is more satisfying then the "group grin" that always appears when they achieve the team goal! Our facilitators will have a debriefing following each activity helping the team apply the outcomes to the workplace.

Team Building Challenges

Team Building Challenges are designed to allow participants to engage in some friendly competition while learning how to best use the skills, abilities and talents of the members on their team. The bottom line is these are motivating, challenging and fun events that will give your staff something to talk about for many years to come.

Orienteering Challenge Course

This is the ultimate in teambuilding. Receive a group lesson in the basics of compass reading, pacing and using a map. Then divide up into teams working through a nine-point course. At several points on the course your team will meet up with a team challenge. Price includes water bottle and a shirt.
Cost: $90.00 per person
Suggested Length of Activity: 3 hours

Rocky Gap Olympics

Groups can be divided into teams and then move through a challenging series of outdoor activities that reflect both physical and analytical challenges. Teams will need to choose different representatives to compete in a variety of events. Points will be tallied to determine the winning team.
Cost: $65.00 per person
Suggested Length of Activity: 2 hours

Survivor Challenge

The group will be divided into Tribes. They will need to come up with a tribe name and create a tribe flag. Next, they will face a series of challenges that could include: kayak scavenger hunt, cycle time puzzle, spider’s web, rafting building, mastermind challenges and much, much, more. Planners may chose 3 to 4 of the above activities depending upon the time allotted for the event. Other activity choices are available upon request. Tribes will come together at the conclusion of the event at the campfire area to hold a “Tribal Council” where the strength of each Tribe will be highlighted and a winning Tribe will be named.
Cost: $90.00 per person
Suggested Length of time: 2 – 3 hours

Night Hike

This is the perfect way to get your group back in tune with one another! These guides will blindfold participants, place a safety rope in their right hand and have them place their left hand on the shoulder of the person in front of them. From here we will hike out onto the trail. The focus of the hike will be on “tuning back in” and developing a “vision” in the workplace. Participants will explore night vision and experience an increased sensory awareness. This truly unique hike will end with a spark party!
Cost: $20.00 per person
Suggested Length of activity: 1 hour

Scavenger Hunt

Teams will need to use their deductive reasoning skills for this event. They will be given a list of clues in the form of rhymes and riddles. Once they solve them they will need to collect the necessary items in record time to win this event.
Cost: $10.00 per person
Suggested Length of activity: 1 hour

Photo Scavenger Hunt

Not only will teams have to solve riddles and rhymes to find their clues but they will need to find someone to take their picture at several locations along the way. Acquiring this combination of collected items and team photos keep teams moving throughout this event.
Cost: $20.00 per person
Suggested Length of Activity: 90 minutes

Downtown Cumberland Scavenger Hunt

An icebreaker activity will determine the teams for this exciting event. Teams will be transported to the Downtown Cumberland area. Each team will be given a mascot that must travel with them and appear in each of the team photos. With clues in hand, teams will scour the downtown area collecting the needed photos, items and information. The beauty and history of the Cumberland area will become apparent as they race to the finish. Teams will meet back up, turn in their items and be transported back where the winning team will be announced.
Price will be dependent upon number of participants.

Team Adventures

Team building activities provide enormous fun with a combination of adventure activities that may include physical challenges, strategies, and camaraderie building make for a great team building experience!

Sporting Clays – Whitewater Rafting – ATV – Paintball – Rappelling – Lake Canoeing Kayaking – Biking – Horseback Riding – Fishing – Orienteering – River Canoeing

These activities should be scheduled in advance and may require a minimum number of participants. Some prices may vary based on number of participants.

A 20% service charge will be added to groups of 5 or more.

Historical Tours

Spend the day in the mountains of Cumberland, Maryland experiencing the area's rich history. Tour some of the historic churches, including the Emmanuel Episcopal Church (1848). This church is home to three Louis Comfort Tiffany Stained Glass windows and tunnels you can explore underneath the church that George Washington's soldiers built in 1755 during the French and Indian War. Take a relaxing tour of the Gordon-Roberts house with 18 rooms depicting life in the area during the late 1800's. That's when Cumberland was the second largest city in the state of Maryland. Finish off your visit there with a Victorian Tea. Stops at the Allegany County Museum, the Mount Savage Castle, Thrasher Carriage Museum and the Toll house can be included on these customize historical tours. Each tour is designed to meet the time requirements and the interests of your group. Transportation and lunch can be included.

Geocaching

For those of you looking for a high-tech adventure teambuilding challenge, this is the ultimate treasure hunt. Learn the basics of using a handheld GPS unit get your coordinates and head out with your team. This can be done in the park by foot or expanded so that teams will drive through the Cumberland area while searching for their caches. If you are looking to build valuable skills that every business team can use, then this what you're looking for. Leadership, decision making and planning are all part of this unique adventure.
